Summer Pant Definition
Crop Pants – Lightweight pant that is cut mid calf and is cut fuller through the leg.
Capri Pant – Lightweight pant that is cut between mid calf to knee length.
Bermuda Short – Lightweight short that is cut just below or above the knee.
Basic Short – Lightweight short that is cut just below or at mid thigh.
General Rule of Thumb
- If you have short legs, be careful of Capri pants and shorts. Often times Capri pants and Bermudas can make short legs look shorter if the hem hits at an unflattering point on the leg. A crop pant that hits at the ankle or below will shorten and widen the leg.
- Choose crop and Capri pants with a slight flare at the bottom. No peg legs. The flare will make your leg look longer and leaner.
- Make sure that pants and shorts are flat front with a low rise. No pleats and high waisted silhouettes…they will add weight to your stomach and hips. Wear a long camisole to avoid showing your tummy and behind.
- Only wear shorts and Capris if you have slim legs. If your legs are heavy, choose crop pants.
- Wear heeled shoes with crop, Capri, Bermuda and shorts to make legs look long and lean.”

This next piece is stunning in my eyes! I love the blue jacket barely hitting her sides, the lovely scarf and long chainy necklaces. The tightness at the hips along with the loose fit above the hips makes this ideal for the RECTANGLE figure!

This orange and white dress would have to be for the Tubular Figure. The tubular body can get away with this sort of volume in the skirt and the tight top at the same time. Although I do have to say I think making the bustline higher would be more flattering.
