Talk about hot Indian look! Both the above and below looks are so exotic and sexy! I would love to wear them or pieces from each outfit (if I dared) at least for one day! Perfect! Just perfect! I can’t say it enough! btw, doesn’t the girl on top look like a barbie!

The look above is so summer and so comfortable! I love the flow and relaxed feeling I get when I look at it. It makes me want to go on vacation!

This next outfit is a hot going out on the town look. I love how the accessories complete the look by adding the perfect flavor and the right amount of interest.

Another native looking dress and with a little more class. Nice and simple with a patterned sleeve and belt to add interest.

A perfect finish…a lovely evening dress. Simple, sweet and sexy all wrapped into one!

I love and want it all!!!

Every wardrobe needs classic pieces… a simple dress in a neutral color, jeans, etc. However, a wardrobe without costume pieces is down right boring! Collect patterned, colorful, unique and trendy articles of clothing or accessories that mirror your taste and personality! Create an exciting and interesting wardrobe with a mix of trendy and classic. Remember, classic pieces don’t go out of style as fast, it takes about 10 years for a classic piece to start looking dated. Trendy and costume pieces can go out of style much faster. It’s always wise to start collecting the classic and then adding costume styles here and there. It’s fun discovering what you like and creating a unique wardrobe! Enjoy!

Wear Dresses that Flatter

Bottega Veneta Resort Spring 2009

A breakdown of the dresses:

bottega-veneta-resort3-spring-09

The above dress would be perfect for the Rectangular Figure…the pencil style skirt and roundness at the hips will add a hip shape to the otherwise hip-less body. The openness at the shoulders widens the upper body therefore creating a hourglass illusion on the rectangular shape.

This nicely patterned dress would be great on a Balanced Figure and also a Inverted Triangle Figure. Lets focus on the reasons why for the inverted triangle… the cut at the sleeves (or the sleeveless) and the neck break up the shoulder line making it appear smaller than it actually is. The shape of the skirt adds the illusion of hips making the body appear more in balance.  BONUS: if you have a long neck the cut of the neckline will make your neck appear more average in length.

bottega-veneta-resort2-spring-09This orange and white dress would have to be for the Tubular Figure. The tubular body can get away with this sort of volume in the skirt and the tight top at the same time. Although I do have to say I think making the bustline higher would be more flattering.

The black number below is great for the Inverted Triangle Figure. The pockets on the hips adds volume creating a hip line.

This little black dress is for my kind of body type…the Triangular Figure. The  sleeve shape and the wide neckline add width there balancing out the hips. The a-line shape of the skirt conceals the hips to appear smaller then they actually are.

Size 16 Pageant Finalist

OH MY!!! I love this girl! I guess this pageant was last year but I only just found out about it today. I stumbled acrossed it while searching for pictures for my last post and I just had to share it!

Her name is Chloe Marshall, she is size 16 and made it to Miss England finals last year. She became the first plus sized girl to make it!

I went to the official Miss England Pageant website and found her bio and this is what she said in it:

I would love to be a top plus size model and support curvier women, i also want to help teenagers with their confidence and to love them selves in their own skin, i want to show then that they dont have to starve them selves to be beautiful, because they are beautifull no matter what size they are

Chloe won Miss Surrey title and has been signed on to Models Plus agency.

Chloe speaks to Hello Magazine

She said: “It’s what I was born to do ? posing for the camera. And as I keep saying, I love my body.”People seem desperate to get me to say that I don’t, that deep down I’m not happy and would rather be thin, but the fact is I wouldn’t change myself at all.

“Do I have fat days? Of course, but what woman doesn’t!

Chloe told Hello: “I’m a size 16, I eat well, I exercise regularly ? I jog, swim, and work out with weights.

“What I am promoting is a healthy girl who looks after herself and doesn’t try to force her body to be something its not.”

“Everybody thinks you have to be a tall, slim blonde and I’m a curvy brunette,” she added.

“I want to show it is possible to be beautiful and not a standard size zero.”

Apparently, she has gotten accused of being a rolemodel for obesity and many people have been upset by her. I think it’s just silly! According to the above quote from her she works out and eats right and loves her “bigger” body…I don’t know whats wrong with that!

Chloe is beautiful and the example to all of us of how life can be… she may not be the “ideal” but she’s happy, ambitous, peaceful, productive and free. I think she looks great!!!

Butt Exercises

I don’t know about you but I’m working on my butt! I want it to be toned, perky and smaller. So, periodically I will be posting new and excited butt exercises.

I am in a Biggest Loser contest with my cousins, siblings, parents, aunts and uncles. I’m in no way a big person…I do have a nice wide behind and big thighs! Don’t get me wrong I love my body (most of the time!) but sometimes I just crave a perfectly fit and toned body. I see it as a personal challenge. I’ve always dreamed of being a very active and adventurous person: kick boxing, dance, playing tennis, hiking, gymnastics, obstacle courses, snow boarding, skiing, sky diving, Etc. And just going from activity to activity all in a day…everyday. Just having that kind of energy and excitement for life is just so inspiring!  I used to dance all the time as a teenager and now I exercise regularly. But, I want more activity! I also crave to be a super healthy eater…the kind that can live off of whole grains, lean meat, fresh fruit and veggies. Although, there is still a part of me that loves, just loves certain desserts (chocolate cake, chocolate, shakes, cookies) and foods (pasta’s, Mexican food, etc) that are fatty! I really like the philosophy of Paul McKenna “I Can Make You Thin”guy!!! And when I follow his philosophy (the stuff I do know about it) it works! I still plan on getting his book and really learning how to do it. But for the most part he teaches four main principles:

1-Eat when you are hungry.          2-Eat WHAT YOU WANT

3-Eat consciously                             4-Stop when you are full.

It’s a really great concept and it’s worked for many people!

Sometimes I would just like to spend a week with active, healthy and adventurous people! Doing what they do and learning from them! I just want to get my butt kicked like that; during an adventurous, tiring week!  If you are on the same journey for fitness, energy or just like the idea of it, then welcome to my world of personal DISCOVERY and come join the fun!

Flaws

“Give us permission, through you, to have a flaw, because flaws are the norm. When you hide your flaws, you teach us to do that. I love to say that we’re just waiting for one teacher, just one, to give us permission to be who we are now, so that we can all come to know that that’s what is normal for us. You appear as this now. That’s such a gift to give . The pain is in withholding it. Who else is going to give us permission to be free, if not you? Do it for you own sake, and we’ll follow. We’re a reflection of your thinking, and when you free yourself, we all get free.”         -Byron Katie

As I ponder the above statement I realize that anything can be considered  a flaw: physical characteristics, a person’s behavior, natural disasters, etc.  People and cultures decide individually what is a flaw to them and what is perfection, some of these flaws and perfections match among the people/cultures while others do not.  Let’s say a natural disaster hits, injurs and maybe even kills innocent people, some people would look at the disaster not even realizing that it could hurt someone and think “how exciting, what a miraculous thing that has happened…I feel so alive!” While others might think, “how horrible, so many lives lost, so much damage, why did it have to happen!” Another example is a person freely speaking their mind, one person hearing might think “how rude! How dare she say such blunt things aloud! Doesn’t she know what she said is hurtful?” While someone else hearing the same woman might think, “I really admire her honesty! What freedom of expression she has!  I want that kind of freedom!” And the most ovious example is physical features; I don’t mean to be offensive but I want to use the example of men’s preferance for a woman’s bust size. We’ve all heard that men consider a small bust a flaw, right? Well, some men do and on the other hand some men love a small bust. And visa verse, some men love a large bust while some would prefer a small bust. It’s all objective.

Can you imagine a woman owning her “flaws” totally and completely? Just loving her whole self and appearance. I can just imagine the kind of impact that would have…think of her children, husband, friends and family, the kind of example they would have and how much more suseputible they will be to follow her footsteps of total and complete self love. I can’t pretend I’m to that point myself…yet I do have my moments. Yes, they are just moments, beautiful moments however fleeting.  I saw a movie on cable  that was a perfect example of  a person giving others permission to be free for themselves…although it is a silly example and I invite you to ignore the stupidity of the situation and see the freedom and acceptance of something that would otherwise be really ackward and looked down on. The movie was John Tucker Must Die and in the scene the basketball players and cheerleaders are at an away-game in an hotel. John’s so-called girlfriend was trying to humiliate him and told him that if he wore a women’s thong she would give him some action…he was trying to sneak into her room (per her fake request) anyway the whole school ends of seeing him in a women’s thong. Most people would be embarrised and ashamed about the “flaw” of being caught in such attire and what that might mean, (remember nothing is wrong with being embarrised and ashamed), however  in this example the next week John shows up to basketball practive with a thong clearly under his shorts at first everyone is disquested and then he tells them how much less-restricting and comfortable they are…soon all the ball players are wearing them!!! I know thats a silly example and still a good one to demonstrate how ”one teacher” can be freeing to all who are wanting freedom and in this example freedom of not caring if you look like a sissy when your just a guy who likes comfort.

Picture your own worst-scenario case where one of your “flaws” is exposed and what it would be like if someone with the same “flaw” or perhaps something would think is worse andthey caused you freedom by exposing there own flaw, what would that be like? Imagine if that person who caused the freedom was YOU! What would that be like?
