I CAN MAKE YOU THIN WITH PAUL MCKENNA

A couple days ago I hit my one year mark since I started this blog and to celebrate I’m going to be playing another video from Paul McKenna’s I Can Make You Thin. Last year in April I only had 53 hits on my blog. In May I had 78 hits. This month, April 2009, I’ve had 958 hits, almost 1,000 in one month to visit my blog and the month isn’t over yet. Yeah! To ME that is a great accomplishment!  Thank You! It has been really fun for me!

Some of the information on this video is repeated and he also goes in to more detail about the 4 Golden Rules along with other great and inspiring info. All really great stuff. I feel so good after participating in and watching  the video…which I just did right before I posted it. When you watch I encourage you to participate, don’t just watch, I know it feels silly to follow along…but you seriously will be glad you did.

8 reasons you are not losing weight

I found this article on www.fitness.com and thought it might be helpful to you.

8 reasons you are not losing weight

12.03.09 – <!– – Submitted By cwalker32–>Clinton Walker III

1. You are not doing a real exercise program Doing a couple of exercises without a plan or schedule won’t produce good results. For the best results, you should design a detailed workout plan. Join a gym or use a facility with enough equipment to work every angle of your body.

2. You are on a diet without exercising You must combine a good diet with exercise. A diet alone may help you lose weight, but eventually you will gain it back. Exercise helps tone your muscles and raises your metabolism rate. By raising your metabolism, you can increase your weight loss. Exercising along with a diet plan is the best way to achieve and maintain a healthy body.

3. You are exercising without a balanced diet You must eat a balanced diet to achieve and maintain the results you desire. Working out without dieting properly will only lead to frustration, mainly because of lack of results. Dieting combined with exercise is a must for the full body transformation process.

4. You are not eating enough calories Under-eating is one of the obstacles in the fight to lose weight. Many believe if you decrease your calories you will lose weight. Your body requires a minimum amount of calories to function properly. If you don’t provide your body with that amount you will not see results. Even the smallest person should consume at least 1200-calories a day. Your calorie intake is determined based upon your weight and activity level. To lose weight you have to eat a balanced meal and enough calories.

5. You never change your routine You must change your routine often to help your improve. For example: If you are exercising on the elliptical machine everyday at the same speed, eventually you will reach a peak and stop progressing. You must perform a variety of cardiovascular and weightlifting exercises. When the results slow down or stop, switch your routine to give your body another challenge. If your body is not stimulated to change It will stay the same.

6. You are a complainer Most people suffer from some form of pain and discomfort at times. Try not to use excuses simply to avoid using a machine or doing an exercise. If you minimize the whining you will see better results.

7. You are too arrogant Some individuals are too arrogant to improve. If you desire excellent results, you must be able to take constructive criticism and move forward. Everyone has something that can be improved about their body. Remember, you are only hurting yourself if you don’t diet and exercise, not the professional trying to assist you. ITS YOUR BODY!!

8. Making excuses about time and money Today, most gyms are affordable and convenient. If you arrange your schedule correctly you will find one hour to workout. Usually the few dollars a month it takes to join a gym won’t make a difference in your life. It is easier to make an excuse than it is to just go to the gym and workout. If you are serious about improving you body, analyze this list and make attitude adjustments if needed. Losing weight and toning muscles it’s not easy, but the results could change your life. You must use effort to get results.

What’s Prettier Than Freckles?

What’s Prettier Than Freckles?
– Author Unknown

An elderly woman and her little grandson, whose face was sprinkled
with bright freckles, spent the day at the zoo. Lots of children were
waiting in line to get their cheeks painted by a local artist who was
decorating them with tiger paws.

“You’ve got so many freckles, there’s no place to paint!” a girl in

the line said to the little fellow.

Embarrassed, the little boy dropped his head. His grandmother

knelt down next to him. “I love your freckles. When I was a little girl

I always wanted freckles,” she said, while tracing her finger across

the child’s cheek. “Freckles are beautiful.”

The boy looked up, “Really?”

“Of course,” said the grandmother. “Why just name me one thing

that’s prettier than freckles.”

The little boy thought for a moment, peered intensely into his

grandma’s face, and softly whispered, “Wrinkles.”

My Weight Loss and Gain History! What’s Yours?

I just lost 8 pounds!!! If you have read MY STORY page you’ll know that I GAINED between 50-55 lbs when I got pregnant over 3 years ago. I went from 125 to 175 in nine months and I had quite the journey these past 3 years learning about fitness and nutrition and what so far does and doesn’t work for me. Here’s my journey in detail…

After giving birth I remember my first task and workout was to relearn how to stand up from the floor with just my legs (no arm support) and holding a 9 lbs baby in my arms. It was quite the task!!! And I kept at it until I got it down…I mean up! haha! Then 6 weeks after the birth I began the crunches, leg lifts, eating right, etc. In one year and a few months time I lost around 30 pounds!  Then, I hit the plateau and hired a personal trainer. Still no results. Then I was introduced to Luann. She was a personal trainer who also sold health foods (weight loss shakes, vitamins, etc.) and she had a deal that if I bought her products I would get free personal training…it sounded good to me and I jumped on board! I followed her program and I lost another 18 pounds!!! Then I became obsessive and extreme…I started (on my own…not my trainers counsel) counting calories and whenever I went out with my husband and friends I would feel sorry for myself. I couldn’t eat what they were eating (or so I told myself) and I didn’t like that it was being rubbed in my face! I was mean and negative and overly strict. I was not fun to be around. I didn’t even like to be around me when food was around. After about 1 year and a half I just gave it up…it was so hard and not worth it! That’s when I went to the opposite extreme. I began eating whatever, whenever and as much as I wanted, even if I DIDN’T REALLY WANT IT!!! Just to prove that I didn’t have to live the way I was previously.  I only worked out a few times a month instead of 6 days a week. In just over a year I gained 15 lbs back! So, now we are at the present. I joined my relatives on a biggest loser type contest for 12 weeks and that’s how I lost the 8 pounds!!! 5.9% of my body weight! And guess how I did it? Of course I worked out AND I used Dr. Paul McKenna’s technique (see tags or fitness on right hand side) well, I didn’t do everything he teaches, just the basics. So, I ate what I wanted!!! I ate consciously most of the time and stopped when I was full most of the time. I didn’t even follow the program to the T and I still lost weight. Granted I didn’t lose as much in the same amount of time as last time.  But, I got to enjoy myself. I wasn’t stressed and I didn’t feel guilt. Now that is how I want to live!!! Peaceful!

I just began another biggest loser type contest with my relatives and I plan to get a little more serious about using Paul McKenna’s techniques and I believe I will lose a lot more and faster this time. I plan to lose around 12 more pounds. I’m going for the gold!

Team Hoyt- The Strongest Dad in The World

The first video tells about the story of team Hoyt, father and son.  Rick who has cerebral palsy tells his dad “When we were running, it felt like I wasn’t disabled anymore.”  That was all it took for Dick (the father) and ever since they have run marathons and Iron Man triathlons together. It’s really amazing!

This next video is an inspiring depiction of how spiritual and touching this story is…

It’s amazing the things people can accomplish and the people they can inspire when they are doing things out of love.

I love and want it all!!!

Every wardrobe needs classic pieces… a simple dress in a neutral color, jeans, etc. However, a wardrobe without costume pieces is down right boring! Collect patterned, colorful, unique and trendy articles of clothing or accessories that mirror your taste and personality! Create an exciting and interesting wardrobe with a mix of trendy and classic. Remember, classic pieces don’t go out of style as fast, it takes about 10 years for a classic piece to start looking dated. Trendy and costume pieces can go out of style much faster. It’s always wise to start collecting the classic and then adding costume styles here and there. It’s fun discovering what you like and creating a unique wardrobe! Enjoy!
