A couple days ago I hit my one year mark since I started this blog and to celebrate I’m going to be playing another video from Paul McKenna’s I Can Make You Thin. Last year in April I only had 53 hits on my blog. In May I had 78 hits. This month, April 2009, I’ve had 958 hits, almost 1,000 in one month to visit my blog and the month isn’t over yet. Yeah! To ME that is a great accomplishment! Thank You! It has been really fun for me!
Some of the information on this video is repeated and he also goes in to more detail about the 4 Golden Rules along with other great and inspiring info. All really great stuff. I feel so good after participating in and watching the video…which I just did right before I posted it. When you watch I encourage you to participate, don’t just watch, I know it feels silly to follow along…but you seriously will be glad you did.
I just lost 8 pounds!!! If you have read MY STORY page you’ll know that I GAINED between 50-55lbs when I got pregnant over 3 years ago. I went from 125 to 175 in nine months and I had quite the journey these past 3 years learning about fitness and nutrition and what so far does and doesn’t work for me. Here’s my journey in detail…
After giving birth I remember my first task and workout was to relearn how to stand up from the floor with just my legs (no arm support) and holding a 9 lbs baby in my arms. It was quite the task!!! And I kept at it until I got it down…I mean up! haha! Then 6 weeks after the birth I began the crunches, leg lifts, eating right, etc. In one year and a few months time I lost around 30 pounds! Then, I hit the plateau and hired a personal trainer. Still no results. Then I was introduced to Luann. She was a personal trainer who also sold health foods (weight loss shakes, vitamins, etc.) and she had a deal that if I bought her products I would get free personal training…it sounded good to me and I jumped on board! I followed her program and Ilost another 18 pounds!!! Then I became obsessive and extreme…I started (on my own…not my trainers counsel) counting calories and whenever I went out with my husband and friends I would feel sorry for myself. I couldn’t eat what they were eating (or so I told myself) and I didn’t like that it was being rubbed in my face! I was mean and negative and overly strict. I was not fun to be around. I didn’t even like to be around me when food was around. After about 1 year and a half I just gave it up…it was so hard and not worth it! That’s when I went to the opposite extreme. I began eating whatever, whenever and as much as I wanted, even if I DIDN’T REALLY WANT IT!!! Just to prove that I didn’t have to live the way I was previously. I only worked out a few times a month instead of 6 days a week. In just over a year I gained 15 lbs back! So, now we are at the present. I joined my relatives on a biggest loser type contest for 12 weeks and that’s how I lost the 8 pounds!!! 5.9% of my body weight! And guess how I did it? Of course I worked out AND I used Dr. Paul McKenna’s technique (see tags or fitness on right hand side) well, I didn’t do everything he teaches, just the basics. So, I ate what I wanted!!! I ate consciously most of the time and stopped when I was full most of the time. I didn’t even follow the program to the T and I still lost weight. Granted I didn’t lose as much in the same amount of time as last time. But, I got to enjoy myself. I wasn’t stressed and I didn’t feel guilt. Now that is how I want to live!!! Peaceful!
I just began another biggest loser type contest with my relatives and I plan to get a little more serious about using Paul McKenna’s techniques and I believe I will lose a lot more and faster this time. I plan to lose around 12 more pounds. I’m going for the gold!

Paul Mckenna is the guy I told you about in my “butt exercises” post below with the four eating rules. It’s awesome because just from watching a couple of his shows I learned a lot and I have a better relationship with food and with myself when it comes to eating! I hardly every get angery at myself anymore when I eat what I want…I feel so peaceful about it. And just so you know I’ve dropped 6 lbs recently! The video above shows some of the concepts and techniques he teaches and I plan to keep posting about his methods, so check back for more. www.mckenna.com
I don’t know about you but I’m working on my butt! I want it to be toned, perky and smaller. So, periodically I will be posting new and excited butt exercises.
I am in a Biggest Loser contest with my cousins, siblings, parents, aunts and uncles. I’m in no way a big person…I do have a nice wide behind and big thighs! Don’t get me wrong I love my body (most of the time!) but sometimes I just crave a perfectly fit and toned body. I see it as a personal challenge. I’ve always dreamed of being a very active and adventurous person: kick boxing, dance, playing tennis, hiking, gymnastics, obstacle courses, snow boarding, skiing, sky diving, Etc. And just going from activity to activity all in a day…everyday. Just having that kind of energy and excitement for life is just so inspiring! I used to dance all the time as a teenager and now I exercise regularly. But, I want more activity! I also crave to be a super healthy eater…the kind that can live off of whole grains, lean meat, fresh fruit and veggies. Although, there is still a part of me that loves, just loves certain desserts (chocolate cake, chocolate, shakes, cookies) and foods (pasta’s, Mexican food, etc) that are fatty! I really like the philosophy of Paul McKenna “I Can Make You Thin”guy!!! And when I follow his philosophy (the stuff I do know about it) it works! I still plan on getting his book and really learning how to do it. But for the most part he teaches four main principles:
1-Eat when you are hungry. 2-Eat WHAT YOU WANT
3-Eat consciously 4-Stop when you are full.
It’s a really great concept and it’s worked for many people!
Sometimes I would just like to spend a week with active, healthy and adventurous people! Doing what they do and learning from them! I just want to get my butt kicked like that; during an adventurous, tiring week! If you are on the same journey for fitness, energy or just like the idea of it, then welcome to my world of personal DISCOVERY and come join the fun!
